Most of the time on this blog I share chapter excerpts from my book, ADOPTION: Encouragement and Advice for a Hopeful Journey. This week I am sharing a blog post I wrote last spring for our state homeschooling organization, CHEC. Now that a new school year is underway, I have had quite a few emails and phone calls about homeschooling adopted children. I hope this will bless parents who feel overwhelmed about where to begin, and how to continue. Homeschooling our children, including our 5 adopted through child welfare, has been a satisfying yet arduous journey. I am grateful for the fruit that is being borne in their lives after all my years of hard work.

Shari Howard McMinn is an author, editor, farmer, writer, and most importantly Mom to 11 children. Widowed very unexpectedly on June 2, 2013, Shari continued the direction of her life built with her late husband, Cary, and launched her public speaking and writing business which he had often encouraged her to do.
